Picture Sky
Picture Sky is a project by Karolina Sobecka in an attempt to reverse the process of satellite imagery to where we, as one, become a very large ‘sociotechnological apparatus’ looking up at the sky, an infrastructure for our technology.
The project is a crowdsourced image of the sky. Multiple observers are positioned at GPS coordinates that form the points of a grid. At the moment of the satellite flyover, , we take photographs looking directly up. Our images are stitched together to form a single large image, opposite to the one taken by the satellite.

תמונת המונים של ענני העיר. האמנית קרולינה סובצקה בחרה 75 קוארדינטות GPS ייחודיות בעיר חולון. בשעה 11:35 בדיוק ברגע בו לווין הצילום עובר מעל שמי גוש דן, נצא לנקודות אלה, נכוון את הסמארטפונים לשמיים ובאמצעות אפליקציה ייחודית נהפוך למצלמה אנושית המורכבת מעשרות צלמים,שמתבוננת חזרה אל הלוויין. כך תיווצר תמונת המונים של ענני העיר.
סובצקה, העוסקת בהתבוננות בעידן הדיגיטלי וברגישות סביבתית-קבוצתית, מבקשת לבחון בפרויקט זה את מקום האינדיבידואל והטבע במארג החברתי והטכנולוגי, וכן לקשור קשר ייחודי אל מושג הענן, שהפך בשנים האחרונות מדבר גשמי לוירטואלי.
אירוע מיוחד במלאות 75 שנה לעיר חולון.
